Past, present and future

Well, that's me the first semester, and you can see that I haven't sleep in 4 days, but I was the most happy person in the world when I was told my grade, that I couldn't stop smiling.

This one looks exactly how I'm feeling, TIRED.

I hope that right after I finish my career, I could start to work right away, I don't really expect to be a known architect, I hope that one day I would have my owne business

final blog

I really like english, and I´m going to miss it next year, it wasn´t a new experience, because in fact my english class in school were very similar, so it´s going to be a big change not to have classes of english ever again.
One of the things that I need to improve is my talking, because that´s the thing that I normally don´t do, so my pronunciación it´s really awful.
I normally read like a lot, like really, a lot, normally when I want to procrastinate, I start to read, and I can spent a full day just reading, and I have already done it several times. The things that I read are normally star wars fans stories right now, but I also read horror stories, like the classic ones.
and that´s it, I´m going to leave the poster of the new star wars movie because it´s really good and I still can´t watch it because of my proyecto of workshop.

changes

Well, the first thing that I would change in the study programme, would be the hours of homework that we have EVERYDAY, that is approximate 4 hours after classes, that would be a total of betweeen 14 to 15 hours of study, leaving from 4 to 5 hours of sleep.

About the things that I have to study, I think that are ok, but one big problem is that I don´t have enough time to study for subjects other than workshop.
The faculty facilities, by the moment, are good, the only problem is that in the winter, it´s probably more cold inside the building, than the outside.
Because I´m in my first year, I still don´t have to use softwares, but I think that would be a problem, I don´t have a really good computer.
In the teaching methods, I´m very conform with all my subjects, except workshop.
I don´t think that it´s neccesary to pass through all that suffering, for something that I was suposed to love, and now I don´t want to even think about, and even more when me and my classmates are getting sick, like literally ill.

A person I admire

Roberto Burle Marx was a plastic artist, and Brazilian naturist, who became a well known architect landscapist. Burle was born in 1909, on the city of Sao Paulo.

Since he was a little boy, he was very interested in the gardens, like when he accompany his mother to cultivate several species of flowers. He studied in the Escola Nacional de Belas Artes, but didn’t finish the class.

Burle Marx first’s landscaping inspirations came while he was studying painting in Germany, while he often visited the Botanical Garden in Brazil, and learn about Brazil’s native nature. After return to Brazil, he began to collect native plants around his home.
The international recognition he won, was because the project of the Ministry of Education building, where he design in a really abstract way, the roof.

Burle Marx’s style was avant-garde and modern, and always with the Brazilian folk art. His designs were also influenced by the cubism and abstractionism.
When he start to introduced plant into his projects, he had a serious problem, because the species of native flora that he wanted to use weren’t known in the shops, so he start his own greenhouse.

The reason of why I admire him, is because he was able to mixed up arts (painting) with a part of architecture, and create something beautiful, also helping the environment and the native flora of Brazil, by making more and more recognized the native plants in his works.

Summer Holidays

In my summer vacations, I’m planning to stay in Chile, and go with my family to the beach. I’ve spent all my summers in the beach, and those are the best days of my life. The place where I would go is Calderilla, a place between Caldera and Bahia Inglesa.

The beach in that place is not really a nice one, so we do other things instead of swimming, like searching mollusks or crabs, and normally in the afternoon, my dad and my uncle put a fishing net with the little boat that we have, and in the next morning, they take it out, before the sea wolf eats all the fish, and all my family helps to clean it up from seaweed.
We normally go to swim in a beach that is called ‘Caleta los Patos’, where we spent almost all the afternoon. In that beach me, my brother and cousins play body board when there are big waves, and if there’re not, we put an inflatable mattress in the sea, and wait to the waves flip us over.

Normally we have this little trips to another beaches, that are more difficult to arrive, because there’re a lot of rocks in it, and we have to walk through them, but those are the most beautiful places, because no one goes to those beaches, and they are intact.

Almost all the food that we eat in the beach is seafood (obviously), but I don't really like it, so I only eat fish, crabs, and oysters.

Special Talent

I don't really think I have a special talent, so I'm going to talk about what I think I good at; painting.
I started painting when I was little, like 9 or 10 years old, with my school teacher, miss Norma Salinas, who taught me how to paint with oil.  My mom realized that I really liked painting, so she put me in classes with a teacher; Marcela Barlaro. Miss Marcela taught me everything I know until now about painting.

My first exposition was when I was 12, I expose with my classmates from the class of arts in school, and I was really happy about it. After that I have several expositions, all with my classmates.
The first exposition that had on my own, was when I was 14, and I exposed in the Cultural center of Copiapó.

The second exposition that I had, was last year, in the new Cultural center of Copiapo, where I put almost all my works, even the ones that I have made when I was 9 years old. In that place I sold my first work.

This is the paint that I sell

In this moment I have actually a exposition in a notary, and it will last 1 week more.

Every time I travel to Copiapo, I go to Marcela's workshop, and paint, because here in Santiago I don't really have time.

Postgraduate studies

At the moment, I have two plans for the future
My first plan, and the one I belive I will follow, is that after I finish architecture, I would take the course of architectonical conservation and restauration, in FAU.
I would like to take this course because, since I was a child, I have been always interested in those old beautiful buildings that were left alone, falling apart, and I couldn't understand, and still can't, why they were in those conditions. My ideal is change that, and take them back to their glorious times.
The place were I would study this course is in FAU, but if  for some reasons I have the oportunity to take this course in another coutry, I would take it, specially if it's in France or Italy, places were are more advance in this kind of fields.

The other plan that is alot more fictional, but I still think about it, is about after finishing architecture, I would keep studying Arts. That's because I really love art, and everything that comes with it. In fact, before I choose architecture, I was in a big trouble, because I didn't know what to choose, Arts or Architecture. I finally took the choice of architecture, and I don't regret it.
The idea of studying arts would be in another coutry, but for that I first would have to work alot.
This idea is not my favorite because I know that after I finish architecture, I will be exhausted.

My future job

In this moment in my life I’m really confused about what I want to do, of course in the field of architecture. When I was still in school, the fields I only though about were patrimony and restoration, but now, with a little more of experience, I’m really interested in being landscapist  or town planner.
In this moment I would go for landscapist, becouse last week I saw the work of a landscapist; Burle Marx, I love the way he used to work, transforming paintings into a gardens.

Even if the job of an architect is normaly indoors, working in a office, I would rather  to work outdoors, mostly becouse I really like traveling and being in contact with the nature, and becouse It’s really boring being in the same place the whole day.

One of the things that I really love, is traveling, so if I have to travel in my job (even if is like two times in a day) I would be happy. I would enjoy  it the most, because while I travel, I can do things that I would normally do in my free time, like listening to music.

While I can afford a house, and food for myself and my pets, I don’t really have any problem with a mínimum salary, but of course, like in any other job, as the salary is bigger, the better.

movie review

Star Wars; a New Hope

The original trilogy starts with a young Luke Skywalker meeting and old 'wizard'; Ben Kenobi, when a droid deliver a message about a princess being taken hostage, needing the help of Obi Wan Kenobi. After they meet, the family of Luke, that in fact were his uncle and aunt, were murdered by the Empire.

Luke decide to go with Ben. They need to get out of the planet, so Ben contract Han Solo to get them out, and took them to rescue the princess. When they get to the place she was held prisoner, they disguise as stormtroopers and took her out. At the end it’s really princess Leia who recue them. Meanwhile, Ben Kenobi and Darth Vader fight, and in the end, Ben stop, so Vader could kill him, all this being watch by the horror eyes of Luke, Han, and Leia, and right after his death, Vader feels another presence in the force. After all, the heroes scape from Vader, and when they arrived, Leia reward them. But there’s still a curious Darth Vader about this new presence, and a very dangerous Death Star.

Since I was very little, my father always made me watch the Star Wars, the original trilogy. Because I was so little, I didn't really understand the movie at all, but with the years I start to like it more and more. When I was 10, me and my little brother watch the prequel, even if my father told us that we shouldn't do that because it was going to be really bad, and it was. At the age of 12 I stop watching the movies, I don't really know why, but the last year, with Star Wars, the Force Awakens. I really fall in love with the saga, again.

My best concert ever

The best concert I've ever been was Coldplay. I can´t really remember the exact day of the concert, but it wasa sunday in April, days before my birthday. The concert was in The National Stadium, and it was full, over 80.000 people. The band that I saw was Coldplay, my favorite band. In that concert they were on a mundial tour, after they released their new album 'A Head Full of Dreams'. Chile was the second contry that they visit on their mundial tour, the first one was Argentina.

At the beginning, I was suposed to go with my parents to the concert, but my dad could't travel to Santiago, so I invited a school's friend that's a really big fan of the band, And the day before the concert my mom said she didn't want to go, because the tickets that we had were for cancha, and she didn't know that in cancha there isn't chairs, so we give her ticket to my cousin.
The concert was suposed to start at 9 pm, so the three of us were waiting in the line at 4 pm.
The moments before the start of the concert were really exiting, becouse everybody was screaming and singing, and when the lights turn off and the color lights from our wristband start glowing, was just magical.

I really don't have alot of words to describe what I felt in that moment, but I think that it was most likely to be in heaven, everybody was singing and dancing, and everything was full of color, that end up in countless fireworks.

A country I'd like to visit

The country I'd love to visit is Italy

I really like Italy, but my favorite city is Firenze.
The reason I' like to visit this country is becouse of the culture, the great art, and the food.
The weather in this country it´s not likely to be equal in all the cities, the north is more cold, and normally there's snow the whole winter, while the south is more tropical.

If I was there the first thing I' like to do would be visit all the galleries and museums, specially the Vatican, where there's The Sistine Chapel, one of the best works of MichelAngelo, one of my favorite artists.

I would also like to visit all the important historic places, like the Coliseum or Milan's Duomo, climb on the staircases of Sorrento, visit Pompei, and see the view of Capri.
And, of course, eat a pizza.

I would really like to study architecture in this country, becouse they have a lot of great and important buildings, like Pisa's tower, and they are really close to the style of architecture I would like to follow. The city were I would like to study is Firenze.
